Return Policy

Here at Movie Poster Works (MPW) we want you to be confident when buying from us. For this reason we strive to have one of the most open return policies in the movie posters and accessories area. You may return an item for any reason, no questions asked based on the following:

Basic Returns: We have a generous 14 day (from receipt of item - based on tracking data) "notification based" return policy with a 30 day "physical" return stipulation. Simply notify us within 14 days of receiving your item, that you wish to return the item for a refund (For damaged items see below). To be eligible for a return the item must be physically returned to us within 30 days (at your own expense) from the date of purchase in the same unaltered and undamaged condition in the original packaging (that you received it in). We recommend that you have the return package electronically tracked by the carrier of your choice. We will not provide store credit or cash refunds until the item is in hand and verified to be in it original "pre-purchase" condition. Upon receiving the return, we will verify it's condition and provide a full cash or store credit refund equivalent to the original invoice amount minus our shipping cost.

Basic Return Exclusions: There are a few instances were we will not be able to provide a cash refund but in its place provide store credit only and they include: special order items, pay and hold shipments, items that have undergone restoration on your behalf, or third party transactions (where MPW serves as a "middleman"). For these items we will provide store credit in the amount of the purchase price. If the item underwent conservation, support, and/or restoration (CSR) services on your behalf, we will only refund 50% of those costs (including any shipment to and from third parties) in the form of store credit. You may ask why these stipulations apply to CSR services on your behalf. The simple answer is that once a poster has undergone CSR efforts, it is forever changed. These changes appeal to some collectors, some collectors despise these efforts and have difficulty acknowledging them as truly collectible. This stipulation does not apply to items that have already seen CSR services prior to purchase but only for those items a buyer specifically requests CSR services.

Damaged Items: We expend tremendous amounts of effort and material to prevent damage during shipping. We believe it is our responsibility to pack your item in such a way as to prevent damage - even if it is due to the incompetence of the carrier. We insure every package to account for this rare event. If you receive a package that is damaged, immediately notify us. Please keep all original packaging and if possible provide photos. DO NOT SEND THE ITEM BACK TO US - WAIT FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS FROM US BEFORE SENDING. We will complete the claims process for you on our end. We understand that damaged items are frustrating, but please ask for your cooperation regarding timelines, pictures, and keeping the original packaging - You may even have to take the item to the post office. Upon the outcome of the insurance claim, we will instruct you either to return the item to us or in the case for items of lesser value we may ask you to simply trash the item. Else, we will make every effort to rectify this rare event. We accept that damaged items will happen but the responsibility is ours alone in this and that the customer should never be held accountable for incident beyond their control. Upon the resolution of the situation, we will gladly provide a full cash refund or credit for all costs associated with the item.

Non-Returnable Items: Several items, we simply can't accept returns on include: gift cards and custom framing.

Partial Refunds: There are certain instances when a partial refund may be applicable:

- The rare case you want to keep a damaged item, we will be happy to negotiate a partial refund.
- Book with obvious signs of use
- CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, video game, cassette tape, or vinyl record that has been opened
- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
- Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery

Completing Your Return:

1. Notify us as soon as you have decided to return an item or have received a damaged package.

REFUNDS (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.  If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.
If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at info@movieposterworks.com.

GIFTS (if applicable)
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.

NOTES ON SHIPPING
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning the item unless damaged during shipping. Shipping costs are generally non-refundable. If you receive a cash refund, our shipping costs will be deducted from the original invoice amount to determine your refund amount.

When returning an item, we recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
